Our Owner Operators are adept at shipping forestry equipment like Feller Bunchers.
Whether it’s a tracked or wheeled machine, our drivers will ensure your buncher is loaded and secured correctly so that it arrives at its destination safely and in its original condition.
Loading a Feller Buncher
Some preparation might be required in advance depending on the size of the forestry machine.
Particularly large pieces might actually require the attachment to be removed. This is done to significantly reduce the overall weight. To learn more, take a look at our getting ready to ship page.
Once that’s taken care of the piece will be driven carefully onto the trailer. With the weight being distributed correctly and safely.
Parking brake will now be applied. Neutral selected. Time to activate the hydraulic lockout switch, releasing the boom lock to release the hydraulic pressure and lower.
Lastly, the driver will chain down the load to the trailer bed using the Feller Buncher tow eyes. He will also be chaining over the attachment.
The expert driver will inspect the Feller Buncher and machine attachment. Then drive at a slow pace, breaking, to ensure the load is stable and secure before departing.
Skidder
Our drivers are adept at shipping forestry equipment like Skidders. They will ensure your forestry equipment is loaded and secured correctly so that it arrives at its destination safely and in its original condition. That includes covering the windshield.
Loading a Skidder
The driver will load onto the trailer typically using his RGN trailer. The deck he uses will accommodate a Skidder that has chained or standard tires.
Once the Skidder is on the trailer deck the parking brake will be applied, neutral selected. Next activate the hydraulic lockout switch, to release hydraulic pressure and lower grapple.
Finally, the driver will chain down the load to the trailer bed using the Skidder towing eyes.
Dozers
Trusted Dispatch’s database of professional heavy haulers know what it takes when it comes to shipping forestry equipment like Dozers.
Whether it’s a small, medium or large Dozer, our drivers will make certain your equipment is loaded and secured correctly so that it arrives at its destination safely and in its original condition.
Loading a Dozer
Advance preparation might be required in prior to the arrival of the trucker depending on the size of the Dozer.
Particularly large pieces might require the blade to be removed and possibly shipped separately due to considerations like the width of the attachment and total weight. That’s usually due to very heavy or over-dimensional loads falling under a term known as “divisible load”
If the load is large and can be broken down into smaller pieces then for a load to be hauled legally it must be transported on two separate loads. If you’re not sure give us a call to discuss we can give you some insights to help you 587-956-8681
When it comes to loading the driver will carefully drive your Dozer onto the trailer. Typically an RGN type (Removable Gooseneck) You can find out more about types of trailers here.
With the Dozer on the trailer deck driver will now apply the parking brake, select neutral, activate the hydraulic lockout switch, next releasing the boom lock to release hydraulic pressure and lower the blade, and/or rear attachment like a riper or winch.
Dozer gets chained down to the trailer bed using the equipment’s tow eyes and chaining to the tracks.
The driver will inspect the load and drive slowly, breaking, to ensure it is stable and secure before departing.

This trailer disconnects from the semi truck and allows the driver to use the trailer as a ramp to easily load this equipment. Check out our trailer resource for more information.
Next the parking brake gets applied, neutral selected, he will activate the hydraulic lockout switch, releasing the boom lock in turn this releases hydraulic pressure and lowers the grapple.
With the very last stage the driver will chain down the equipment to the trailer bed using the Loader tow eyes as well as chaining to the bucket.
As the driver departs you’ll notice him inspect the load and drive at a slow pace, breaking, to ensure the load is stable and secure.

When the equipment is on the trailer and in position the parking brake gets applied. Next step will be to select neutral, activate the hydraulic lockout switch, releasing the boom lock to release hydraulic pressure and lower the attachment.
